Website usage
Our Site is professionally hosted and operates in a secure environment. You should however be aware that there is always an inherent risk in transmitting your any information over the Internet.
We process online orders all in an SSL secure environment.
We take website and credit card security extremely seriously, and always endeavor to provide a secure safe platform on which to conduct online transactions - Layawayland.com uses Stripe SSL and PayPal SSL.
Stripe
Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry. To accomplish this, Stripe use the best-in-class security tools and practices to maintain a high level of security at Stripe.
Stripe forces HTTPS for all services using TLS (SSL), including our public website and the Dashboard.
- Stripe.js is served only over TLS
- Stripe’s official libraries connect to Stripe’s servers over TLS and verify TLS certificates on each connection
Stripe regularly audit the details of our implementation, including the certificates Stripe serve, the certificate authorities Stripe use, and the ciphers Stripe support. Stripe uses HSTS to ensure that browsers interact with Stripe only over HTTPS. Stripe is also on the HSTS preloaded lists for both Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.
All card numbers are encrypted at rest with AES-256. Decryption keys are stored on separate machines. None of Stripe’s internal servers and daemons can obtain plaintext card numbers but can request that cards are sent to a service provider on a static allow list. Stripe’s infrastructure for storing, decrypting, and transmitting card numbers runs in a separate hosting environment, and doesn’t share any credentials with Stripe’s primary services (API, website, etc.).
PayPal
PayPal automatically encrypts your confidential information in transit from your computer to theirs using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 256-bits). Before you register or log in to the PayPal site, our server checks that you are using an approved browser - one that uses SSL 3.0 or higher.
Once your information reaches the PayPal site, it resides on a server that is heavily guarded both physically and electronically. PayPal servers sit behind an electronic firewall and are not directly connected to the Internet, so your private information is available only to authorized computers.
